“He wasn’t using a crosswalk; it cancels out; It’s ok; keep walking..”

We already knew that riding a bicycle on busy city streets was dangerous; but apparently, when you combine bicycling the wrong way down a city street against a pedestrian who is caught jaywalking, then the two wrongs cancel each other out.

Check out the video after the break.

The biker is going to get killed biking against traffic. Complete idiot.

    Nice recovery by the pedestrian!

My feelings lie with the pedestrian, if one must choose sides; maybe jaywalking isn’t even a traffic violation there, and who expects to be blindsided by someone coming the wrong way down a one-way street? Poor guy was awfully even tempered about it. He popped right back up like a Weeble Wobble. More resilient than I would have been.

Too funny! No one was hurt.

If I was that pedestrian I would have gotten up swinging.

I’m going to have to side with the pedestrian, who is remarkably good natured about getting creamed by the cyclist. The building where I work is on a one way street in the SF financial district, and I have nearly met the same fate as the gentleman in the video more times than I care to count courtesy of cyclists barreling down the street in the wrong direction.

I suppose the one mitigating factor in this situation is the fact that he’s walking into the street from between two parked cars, and the cyclist has no time to take evasive measures. But still…

Idiot cyclists. If that had been me he knocked over I’d have flattened his nose. They are a menace. Riding on pavements, running red lights, going the wrong way down a one way and then they wonder why so many of them get killed!

I don’t know what the original intent was for posting this video, but I hope it wasn’t for mal-content.

The cyclist is really more at fault for this one. Never mind that the pedestrian is the more vulnerable of the two parties. If you asked each man if his actions showed consideration for the safety of others, I’m pretty sure the cyclist would not be able to say “yes”. The pedestrian, maybe.
