As you know, Google Earth is candid camera for unsuspecting pedestrians and animals, and artist Jon Rafman has made it his duty to search the virtual streets for the most bizarre and fleeting moments captured by Google’s army of hybrid vehicles. Although he puts it a different way:
I began an exploration of this new virtual world, and was fascinated by how powerfully Street View photographs can represent our contemporary experience, the conflict they can express between an indifferent robotic camera and man’s search for connectedness and significance.
