Map Examines How Much Snow Is Needed To Cancel School Across The U.S.

Using local news reports, a survey, and average snowfall levels from NOAA maps, Redditor “atrubetskoy” created the above map which approximates how much snow would need to fall to cancel schools across the country. Obviously, the rule of thumb is that areas that receive more snow are better equipped to handle the problem, whereas if you get a dusting in Florida, where snow plows are only seen in pictures, it would be an utter catastrophe.
