Researchers at Hiroshima University have determined that looking at cute baby animals increases productivity and allows workers to perform their jobs more efficiently.
In three experiments, they studied their cognition and dexterity of 48 college students. In the first, the subjects played a game similar to Operation. In the second, they performed a visual search using number matrices, and the third experiment tested the participants’ focus. In every single experiment, the folks who looked at cute baby animal photos outperformed the ones who did not. They even outperformed those who looked at photos of adult animals.
Of course, in the real world those positive effects will be channeled into tracking down more baby animal videos in a shorter period of time. We’ll get you started: hit the jump to check out two cats licking each other in a frying pan.
