Probably not, but the internet is still abuzz with discussion after the image, reportedly captured by a trapper on a trail in Alberta, was posted to Facebook by a mysterious woman named Penny, who claims to be associated with the unnamed, even more mysterious photographer. The pic was accompanied by the following testimonial:
“I know this person. They are a dogsledder and would in no way be the type to try to fool around with fake pictures. They actually think it’s a bear and cub but for some reason they only have one photo. Strange.”
Not surprisingly, taking a picture of an obscured bear or a gorilla requires no image trickery to get people talking – only the Bigfoot label. Throw in the single photo and the anonymous poster / photographer and a mound of BS screaming red flags have already piled up.
