The Selfie Arm Creates The Illusion Of Companionship

Artists Aric Snee and Justin Crowe focus their energies on designs that challenge the dynamic of humans and technology – specifically, technology and its illusionary “connectedness” and “sociableness”. With that they came up with the “Selfie Arm”, which is basically a fake arm with a camera attached to the end of it.

A prototype of the device has been created from fiberglass and is touted as being lightweight and portable, making a selfie look like a someone-elseie. Of course, something like this would be incredibly embarrassing for the lonesome to use, and if it becomes a reality, would probably be better marketed to those who want Mom to stop asking when they’re going to find someone, or those who want to make an ex jealous.
