A test of the MoonKAM on board one of NASA’s new GRAIL probes resulted in the first ever video of the crater-infested dark side of the moon. In addition, NASA is launching an education initiative that will allow middle school students to control the MoonKAM and explore specific areas of the far side.

As you’ll see in the video after the break, Nick McKaig is a master of a capella. His rendition of the Simpsons theme song required writing out the entire orchestration from a recording and performing every part individually – resulting in over 30 recordings. This stunning, 28 meter tall cathedreal-type structure, entitled “Luminarie De Cagna”,is equipped with 55,000 LEDs and was recently displayed at the 2012 Light Festival in Ghent, Belgium, where it proved that multicolored lights have applications beyond holidays and casinos.
