You thought film was on its way out for good, and you’re probably right. However, it’s got one last trick up its sleeve in an attempt to stay relevant and avoid joining analog tapes, CDs and DVDs at the landfill – by becoming USB drives. These rolls came from actual labs (which are no doubt also looking for a new way to make money) and have been converted into drives offering 4 GB of photo storage. The only question now is whether you will lose all your info if the canister breaks open.

I’m not what you would call the most organized person in the world, which is why I could find some use for a decent label maker. This is especially true when it comes to all of those damn bins I have in garage. I can’t seem to find anything when I need it.
That having been said, the Dymo LabelManager PnP will definitely fit my needs.

If you are like me, the only way you’ll ever solve a Rubik’s Cube is to rearrange the colored stickers on the side. That is, unless it looks something like this homemade version, in which case my only recourse is to smash it against the wall in frustration.
Fortunately, this particular version of a Rubik’s Cube is easy to solve. Just plug it into a free USB port for power then plug in the audio jack for sound. It’s compatible with just about any Mp3 player or audio source.

Belkin’s Conserve Valet claims to eliminate the use of standby power by charging up to four USB devices and automatically shutting down when the process is complete.
We got a chance to try out the Conserve Valet for ourselves and I can say that it does what it’s supposed to do—for the most part. Belkin’s product page makes it seem like the Valet can automatically detect when your gadgets are fully charged, but the reality is that it charges on a 4.5-hour timer. When another gadget is added, the clock simply resets. In other words, the Conserve Valet isn’t nearly as smart as it thinks it is. UPDATED…

Designer Gonglue Jiang won the International Forum Concept Award 2010 for his ingenious InfiniteUSB concept, which will prevent users from having to search for ports or unplug devices to plug another in. Besides making your devices easier to use, InfiniteUSB comes complete with color-coding to help you more easily differentiate between stacked devices. Although power consumption issues will most likely result from larger chains of stacked USB devices, it is sure to be in high demand if and when it goes into production.
