It’s January, and that means people will flock to their local gyms in an effort to make good on their New Year’s resolution to get back in shape. Sometimes something can be so simple, yet amazingly beautiful.

This is the Electronic Butterfly In A Jar from ThinkGeek.

It’s a butterfly. In a jar. That you can watch and enjoy and won’t die. You don’t have to trap it and you don’t have to feed it and you get to feel like a little kid all at the same time.

It looks like an ordinary tie from the front, but the back hides built-in bubble wrap that you can discreetly play with when you are stressed out at work.

In a move that will connect their employees with nature and provide them with plenty of fresh air, Spanish architecture firm SelgasCano built their office in the middle of a forest. The structure features a weighted pulley mechanism at one end of the tunnel to allow varying degrees of natural ventilation. That’s all great, but the big question every new employee has gotta ask is: where the hell is the parking lot? Check out some additional photos after the break.

If your boss micromanages, takes credit for the ideas of others or uses disrespectful statements like “because I said so”, he has probably forgotten what it’s like to be a regular employee… or he may just be a major league asshole. Either way, he would probably benefit from this list of “ten things your employees wish you knew about them”. However, someone like that would probably fire you just for bringing it up.  Check out the complete list by clicking the link below.

No doubt, there are days when you go to work, where you just feel trapped in your office. If you’re feeling stressed, consider the fact that the penguins in the following video are stuck in a zoo. However, you don’t hear them complaining. Check out the video after the break.

If your computer has ever crashed, causing you to lose valuable information, you’ve probably fought the urge to throw it out the window or worse. Thankfully Patrick Staudt developed this concept PetPad mouse which features a built in stress ball for squeezing your rage away. The device allows customizable ‘pillows’ to be attached to the top of the mouse while the conventional buttons are mounted beneath the base plate and controlled by lateral tilt.
