Using a fairly simple set of wooden mechanics, this walking table by Wouter Scheublin can produce a natural walking motion as it is pushed across the floor. However, it only moves in one direction, and turning it or moving it lengthwise is out of the question.
The Walking Table is available in an extremely limited run of 8 pieces from Priveekollektie. You can check out a video of the table in action after the break.

Next time winter rolls around, you can take your mind off the bitter cold, short days and gray ugliness of the season by replacing it with the beauty and warmth of this “Speak” workstation from the Biocamino collection, which offers a fireplace built right into the tabletop. When not in use, the table will hide the hearth in its belly, allowing “Speak” to serve as a working table.

This “Binary Table 01″ was created by BRC Designs using nothing but outdated, discarded electronics, including old computer towers and circuit-boards – even the glass tabletop was salvaged from an abandoned warehouse. However, it all comes together to offer a functional piece of nerd decor:
the disks spin, buttons click and sliders, well, slide—reverting digital to analog and nicely complementing the inside-out effect.
BRC Designs will be exhibiting at the upcoming ICFF in May, hopefully this amazing table will be part of the show.

This plywood “Pit-In” is a desk that employs your bicycle an an integral part of its design. You ride your bike directly to your desk, insert the front wheel in the opening, plant your feet on the two raised platforms on either side and you’re ready to get down to business.
It’s hard to imagine what office building would allow you to ride your bike through the hallways, but it’s harder still to imagine sitting on an uncomfortable bike seat for an entire shift. Your arse would be begging for mercy after the first hour.

Relaxation therapist Sanne Buhl was the driving force behind this Spinella Office Chair, which helps provide proper support by using same gel found in breast implants. The chair’s spine-shape provides adjustable lumbar support while the 30 cm deep seat relieves the pressure on the back of the thighs, nerves and blood vessels. It is available in 101 colors, 4 different fabrics, and is even offered in a kid’s size – which is fitting, seeing as how it looks exactly like something you’d expect to find in a Dr. Seuss book.

This chair from Manfred Kielnhofer uses plexiglass tubes and neon lights to make you feel like you’re jumping to lightspeed in the Millennium Falcon, when in reality you’re sitting on your ass watching American Idol. The speed illusion surely indicates how fast you’re gaining weight.
