My guess is that 100 years from now, computer crashes will be as antiquated as rotary phones and outhouses are today. However, for the time being they are a part of life – and since Microsoft has redesigned the Blue Screen of Death for Windows 8, it’s clear that there’s not going to be a solution for the foreseeable future.
Blue Screen of Death 2.0 replaces the nonsensical gibberish of the original with a simple frowny face and a message saying “Your PC ran into a problem it couldn’t handle, and now it needs to restart”. If you were hoping there would be an explanation of what the hell happened, you’re out of luck. Needless to say, this development answers our previous question regarding the Black Screen of Death.
